About

The collective a_maze was founded in spring 2015 by the two artists Conny Zenk and Veronika Mayer. Their aim is to develop more projects in the field of audio-visual art and performance and, above all, to bring artists from different fields and countries into dialogue and onto the wheel.

The art project, RAD Performance describes group rides around the city that is experienced with their own body and bicycle. The main focus is the interaction between the group and the route traveled.

RAD Performance enables people to experience the urban space of the city in many fresh new ways through the bicycle. The different districts of Vienna will be traveled through, the city will be the stage, the bicycle is the actor, the vehicle and the instrument. At the end of every group ride, the artists are invited to concerts, screenings, exhibitions, to present and reflect on this project in different art contexts.

The starting and ending points of the group rides connects the city and its inhabitants rhizomatically: districts and their stories are just as much a part of the performance as the roads that the cyclists choose and the places through which they choose to move.

The urban space orchestrates itself, the bicycle is the medium!
